Kristal, M.A. has degrees in Child and Developmental Psychology.
She worked with the Kaiser Permanente Temperament Program
for 16 years as Program Coordinator and Temperament
Counselor at three Kaiser medical facilities. Co-author of
The Instructor's Manual for Temperament Based Parenting
Classes , she conducts workshops for professionals
across the country, consults with schools and teachers,
and provides individual temperament assessments and consultations.
Jan's work in temperament has been featured on NBC's Dateline.
She teaches classes in Child and Adolescent Development,
Temperament and Child Behavior, and Lifespan Development,
at Dominican University of California. Her book, The
Temperament Perspective: Working With Children's Behavior
,
is published by Brookes Publishing Company. Jan and her husband have two daughters.
